6 Reasons to Book a Portrait Session

6 Reasons to Book a Portrait Session

Friday, 02 December 2022 16:50

There are a number of reasons that you may tell yourself not to book a portrait session. Maybe you’re too busy. Have too much on your plate. Feeling like you don’t look or feel your best right now… maybe you feel that you don’t have a good enough reason to book one! I’m here to tell you just how empowering, important, and fun a portrait session can be!

There are many types of portrait photography. Some that I do include: individual adult portraits, child portraits, family portraits, bridal portraits, pet portraits, and more! It’s up to you to decide which may fit best for you and your photography needs. Check out my Services tab for more information about what each service entails.

Are You Interested in Portrait Sessions?

Great! Now that you’re interested in learning more about portrait sessions let’s talk about some reasons why you should book a session with me.

1) Remember things as they are.

Though you or a loved one may feel like you don’t look your best and, therefore, shouldn’t book a session right now, that could not be further from the truth! As we age, we all want to remember how you, family members, friends, or significant others looked way back when in 2023.

Capturing things as they are is so important and can create amazing memories to look back on. Think about laughing in the future, not only about how happy everyone is in the photos and laughing at how much fun you all had while being photographed. Core memory created!

2) You can try out new things!

A lot of people like to dress for the occasion during a photoshoot. This is the perfect time to try out fun new styles. Even if it’s a group portrait session, trying out fun, new hairstyles, types of clothing, colors, costume jewelry, hats, etc., can be exciting and open up a LOT of possibilities as far as the photos go!

It can be incredibly freeing to try out a style you’ve been eyeing and realize just how good you look in your portraits!

3) Mark a special occasion.

Senior portraits, graduation or wedding photos, and engagement sessions are only a few of the special occasions you might want to remember through photographs. These milestones only happen once, so having portraits made to remember this special occasion and all of the feelings that come with it can be rewarding.

Looking back years from now on, these significant moments in your life can be made so much easier with portrait sessions.

4) Be able to get great photos and relax while doing it!

Although personal photos are great, having a professional there to guide you during a session will allow you to relax, let loose, and have fun. You can have someone tell you exactly what to do with your hands, avoiding moments where you may feel awkward otherwise. You also don’t have to worry about setting a timer, running, and getting into the perfect position.

You don’t have to take a million shots to make sure everyone’s eyes are open. You just have to show up! Getting individual or family portraits doesn’t have to be stressful, so why let it?

5) Let the photos be a gift!

With the holidays fast approaching, an awesome way to connect with those closest to you is to give them portraits that they can hold near and dear to their hearts. Family holiday photos are always fun and such a great gift to close friends and family. Without the holidays, close friends and family will cherish photos that were taken or that symbolize important milestones.

Graduations, proms, weddings, engagements, birthdays, etc., are all events to remember, and your loved ones would love to know that you thought of them when gifting photos of your significant event!

6) Empower yourself!

I know I’ve mentioned this before, but there does not have to be a reason for you to have individual portraits done… I’ve focused a lot on family and group sessions, but now it’s time to talk about sessions for YOU and you alone.

Professional photos of you can boost your confidence and make you feel incredibly empowered. Now is your time to try out fun new things (boudoir photographs can be a fun option, too), laugh, relax, and be captured as the beautiful human being you are.
