Capturing boudoir portraits (or feminine photography) can capture you at your highest levels of confidence and sexiness. It can be a very freeing experience that will capture the essence of your natural beauty.

Down to the nitty gritty
After learning more about what exactly a boudoir session is, why you might want to have one done, and what your session MIGHT (because it’s totally up to YOU!) look like, there are still probably some little voices floating around with common myths and misconceptions surrounding boudoir photography.
Keep reading to debunk those misconceptions and fill yourself with confidence, knowing that you can book your session with no hesitation!
1. “This isn’t the right time.”
Why not? Just because there may not be a holiday or special occasion coming up does NOT mean that you don’t deserve or get to feel as beautiful as you are. No special occasion is necessary for you to be photographed feeling (and looking) like your most confident self.
Gift your portraits to a special someone, or just have them done for the fun of it! There doesn’t need to be a special occasion for you to feel confident in yourself!
2. “I’m too shy and nervous to do that.”
This is one of the most common phrases said surrounding boudoir portraits. Let me tell you that there is absolutely NOTHING to be nervous about! Yes, it can absolutely seem scary and intimidating to pose for boudoir portraits in front of a stranger.
No, I am not judging you! I absolutely, completely, one-hundred percent understand where your nerves are coming from. You are stepping outside of your comfort zone. No matter your age, height, weight, body shape, etc., this is a judgment-free zone. This photography session is more for you than anyone else!
3. “I won’t feel comfortable incorporating my own ideas.”
I am a client-focused photographer. This means that I focus on how you feel during sessions rather than focusing only on the end result. I want to make sessions fun for you, and I want to capture you being your most natural, gorgeous self.
Therefore, I want there to be open communication about how you want the shoot to go! You can contact me and tell me your ideas, and I will find the best way to incorporate them into our session.
4. “My friends and family won’t approve.”
This is personal, and it’s for YOU! You may be having portraits done as a gift to someone else, but the session itself is all. About. You. You don’t need anyone’s approval!
These photos aren’t going to be shared unless you give me explicit consent to do so. I will never share photos that you wouldn’t want to be shared, so keep them private if you want! You get to choose who sees your portraits.
5. “I don’t have the right look for this”
Any look is the right look for boudoir portraits. There is no shape, size, or age that serves as the ‘best fit’ for any situation. Anyone can have boudoir portraits done. And EVERYONE deserves to feel confident, sexy, and happy. You don’t need to look a specific way or wear a specific item to be ‘right’ for sessions. I want you to look like you. I want to capture how amazing your natural look is!
My main goal for each session is to make it a comfortable and unique experience. Making you relaxed is how we can get there! I am very open to hearing about what you would like your session to look like.
