summer wedding photographerIt’s difficult to beat the views of the Brushy Mountains and Appalachia of North Carolina. Wilkes, Watauga, and Ashe County, in the midst of the Brushy Mountains, is a place where summer is still summer and hot, but it still beats the heat of the Piedmont area.

With summer storms, the shade of the trees and mountains, and greenery and flowers in bloom, it’s a beautiful and enjoyable place to be in the summer.

It’s not uncommon to see pictures of the Blue Ridge Parkway online. From Boone, NC, there is access to the Blue Ridge Parkway with overlooks of mountains, and the temperatures are usually ten degrees cooler than what they are at the bottom of the mountain.

It’s no surprise that with the beauty and comfortable weather that this location offers, it is a top pick for summer weddings. There’s no summer wedding like a mountain summer wedding!

If you’re looking to have a summer wedding, think about the Brushy Mountain and the Appalachian area. I’m a photographer (who travels regularly) located in Wilkes County, and ready to help capture the memories from your summer wedding.

Mountain Wedding in the Summer

If you’re not convinced already of why your summer wedding location should be in the Brushy Mountains, maybe we can further convince you. Not only is it great for the moment, but it will be great for photography purposes.

Photographers who are locals to the area often know of endless locations that are beautiful, and could be a good fit for your wedding. Summertime can often present wonderful photography opportunities, such as:

  • Overcast lighting from storms and shadows create clearer pictures
  • Natural backgrounds such as mountains, overlooks, greenery, and fields that are free
  • Cooler weather and less sweat mean photos that you enjoy how you look in
  • Mountain Weddings tend to be more budget-friendly because of local prices, but they also can be budget-friendly because it takes less decorating to create a beautiful photograph
  • Many people are still getting married indoors and in churches. Even if it is outside, many times, it is in a barn or shelter. You will have a unique wedding experience caught in photographs.
